The plaster keeps blowing on our downstairs wall. Why?
On the older Grangetown terraces it is usually a solid wall with moisture and salts moving through it. Salts crystallise behind the finish and push it off, which is why the same patch fails again after being skimmed. The wall has to be hacked back past the affected area and re-backed with the right coat, once whatever is wetting it has been dealt with.
We are in a flat. Is that a problem?
No, but it needs organising. Access, the lift or the stairs, where materials can be left and what hours the building allows all shape the day, and some blocks want notice or the freeholder's say-so before work starts. Mention it on the first call and it is all easy.
Can you just do one room?
Yes. A single room, a hallway or one ceiling is normal work. If it is a small job in the Bay or Grangetown it usually gets slotted in between larger ones rather than pushed to the back of the queue.
Our house is mid-terrace. Can the front be rendered on its own?
It can, and it is a decision worth thinking about rather than rushing. A single rendered front in a run of brick fronts is a visible choice, and where the neighbours are attached the edges and the party line need detailing properly so it does not look like it stops halfway. He will tell you how it will actually look.

Needed kitchen Artex ceiling plastered. Jetnor was quick to respond and arrange a date & time to quote. Quote was very reasonable and job was carried out to an excellent standard (photos attached). He turned up on time, was very polite and cleaned up after he finished. He used Blue Grit on the Artex first and plastered when dry the next day. We would highly recommend Jetnor if you need any plastering done. You will not be disappointed. 10 out of 10 from us.
