Where a wall like that needs re-backing, a lime or a more permeable mix is often the right call. That is a conversation to have at the quote, and it is one Jetnor would rather have than find out about later.

We are near the front and the render keeps failing. What actually lasts here?
South Wales sits in one of the worst wind-driven rain exposure bands in Britain, and on a seafront elevation that is not a figure of speech. What survives is a system built for it: the right base coat, mesh reinforcement, beads and stop ends at every edge, and a top coat that sheds water while still letting the wall dry. What fails is a thin coat of something cheap over a wall that was never prepared.
Is a coloured render better than painting it?
For an exposed elevation a through-coloured silicone or K-Rend system means there is no paint film to blow, flake or need redoing every few years, which is the usual reason painted render looks tired quickly by the coast. It has to go on a properly prepared base to be worth anything.
The house is Victorian. Does that change what you would use?

Needed kitchen Artex ceiling plastered. Jetnor was quick to respond and arrange a date & time to quote. Quote was very reasonable and job was carried out to an excellent standard (photos attached). He turned up on time, was very polite and cleaned up after he finished. He used Blue Grit on the Artex first and plastered when dry the next day. We would highly recommend Jetnor if you need any plastering done. You will not be disappointed. 10 out of 10 from us.
